Using search on duplicate items returns empty set

Description

When searching in Elgg, duplicate items are not returned at all. That is, two users are created. First create Firstname1 Lastname. Search on Firstname1 or Lastname and this user is returned. Now create Firstname2 Lastname. Searching on Firstname2 returns this user, but searching on Lastname returns neither user.

According to http://elgg.org/mod/vanillaforum/vanilla/comments.php?DiscussionID=619&page=1#Item_14 this also can happen when a tag and a username are duplicates.
